Mickey Finns (1/21/2011) Our first full show with DC! A few glitches, but a big success based on the number of people that stuck around until the end and the demand for an encore. A great crowd with some new faces and we got most of them out dancing. Thanks to all for bringing the fun! _______________________________________
Timothy O'Tooles (12/16/2011) An acoustic set! Somehow we all fit on the stage and had a great time. We had lots of folks singing along. Including people we just met. Lots-o-fun. _______________________________________
Cubby Bear North (11/12/2011) We're back!!! Our first gig with DC and Ned (full time), and they did great! We made some new friends and very few people left before we finished. Lots of dancing and positive feedback from folks who had never heard us before. Rich did a great job with sounds as always. (We're looking into options to make the soundcheck go faster.) It's great to be back at it again. _______________________________________
Wool Street Grill in Cary (04/16/2011) Thanks to all the great people who came out to see our last show. We had a blast and had no technical difficulties this time. It's been a great two and a half years. Mike is retiring from the band from the band. We not sure what will happen next for us. He's been great to work with and a great friend. We're not sure what will be next, but if something changes, we'll update the web site. _______________________________________
Cubby Bear North (03/02/2011) Another great time at Cubby Bear North. Blue Moon Swamp opened for us and did spot-on covers of CCR and John Fogerty. Rich the soundman took good care of us as usual. We had two die-hard dancers that kept on going pretty much until the end and a bunch others who were a little more selective. The rest seemed to be content just singing along. Whatever your pleasure, we just appreciate you all being there. _______________________________________
Mickey Finn's (2/28/2011) We really appreciate our loyal friends who came out out on a nasty night and the new-comers, many of whom stayed to the very end. We got great support from everyone and hope you all had as good a time as we did. Brandon did a great job with the sound and was always right there to tweak our levels when we needed it. _______________________________________
Carmel Street Scenes (2/11&12/2011) Two nights and we think we made some new friends. Lot's of bands and shows, great food, and plenty of drinks, all for a good cause. The school must have made a bundle and everyone seemed to be having a good time (some maybe too much). Photos Page _______________________________________
Shark City (01/21/2011) Wow!!! Five great bands!! An amazing sound system and lights!! Great food and free drinks!! And we had Jeff Anderson join us on guitar and Skip Moore on keyboards for a really big sound. Dueling guitar solos. What a blast!! Can't wait to see Skip's great pictures from his amazing cameras! Photos Page _______________________________________
Wool Street Grill in Barrington (01/08/2011) We had some surprise guests come and check us out. After the Colts lost to the Jets, we managed to keep some sports fans around to listen and some even danced. The staff were great and after a little tweaking of the sound system we had the sound just right. Thanks to all those who braved the storm and the couple and their mom who outlasted everyone!! (She was even drumming on the table to Metallica!!) Photos Page _______________________________________
Mickey Finn's (12/11/2010) We appreciate all those that braved the weather to make it out. Not too many familiar faces in the crowd, but a great crowd none the less. There was a chair incident, but fortunately, no one got hurt. Ned joined us on acoustic and vocals for one song each, so we signed his poster for him. Brad got a great mix that was not too loud and even the mix in our monitors was great. Photo Page coming soon. Photos Page _______________________________________
Durty Nellie's (11/12/2010) Our best show yet!!! A fantastic venue with a great stage, sound, and lights and a professional staff. Some new faces in the crowd including some old friends who surprised us. We did some hard tunes and pulled them off. The crowd was very supportive. Hairbangers Ball put on a great show and everyone seemed to have a great time. Photos Page _______________________________________
Chicago City Limits (10/29/2010) We had some old College and High School friends come out, which was great. Some work friends from working and other bands. The sound system is incredible and Mike, the sound guy, is a pro. We knew he would be since we lobbied for him at several Motorola events. Rubber was fantastic with their zombie costumes and their alternative sets. A great time all the way around. _______________________________________
Wool Street Grill in Barrington (09/25/2010) We found a new place to play! We got a great response from several different groups of local patrons as well as some of our devoted regulars. There was even talk of some other clubs that they recommended. We used our own PA system and got one of the best sounding mixes we've ever got with it. Some even thought it was better than some of the mixes we've had with house sound systems. _______________________________________
Mickey Finn's (08/21/2010) There was plenty of singing along and toe tapping in the first set, but in the second set, the dance floor was full most of the time. Paul tried out his new amp and it made the grade without any glitches. (He just needs a few more tweaks to get it just right.) We appreciate all our regulars (can we call you Airhead?) who come to so many of our shows and often bring friends and/or family. We also had some new faces that showed us their support by staying to the end. Thanks to them too. _______________________________________
Cubby Bear North (06/04/2010) Another great time at Cubby Bear North. We opened for Ordinary Outcast who were a lot of fun. Eric, the entertainment director and Rich the soundman took good care of us. The only thing that would have made it better would be if the Blackhawks had one, but given that they eventually won the Stanley Cup, its hard to complain. _______________________________________
Durty Nellie's in Palatine (05/22/2010) Wow! What a night! We had a great turn out and we all had a blast! We saw lots of familiar faces in the crowd with plenty of dancing and singing along. Dave Daugerdas did a great job filling in for Jeremy. It was amazing what he pulled together in just a few days. Bobby, the Entertainment Coordinator took care of us with our own room in the basement. (yes, there is actually a "back stage.") Frontiers were great too. I heard a lot of Journey tunes I hadn't heard in years. Thanks to all who came out and made us feel like real rock stars! Photos Page. _______________________________________
Mad Maggie's in Elgin (04/23/2010) The night was rainy, but Face For Radio and us still managed to get people to come out. Some old friends came out to see us for the first time and even rented a limo. Face For Radio's first gig was a hit and got a great response. Their covers of classic rock tunes were spot on and I thought their cover of "Ridin' The Storm Out" was better than the original. With their two guitarists, they pulled off some harmony leads. I was jealous. Mad Maggie's has a nice wide open space with cool leather couches, a great sound system and lights, and a large stage. DJ did a fine job with the sounds and lights. _______________________________________
Mickey Finn's (02/28/2010) Another great night out at one of our favorite clubs! We had a great turn out and EnKase helped us out again. It took awhile before the alcohol kicked in and people gave in to their dancing feet, but once they did, the dance floor was full. We saw lots of new faces out there and hope everyone had as much fun as we did. Thanks to all who came out, especially our diehard faithful. BTW-Scott did a great job with the sound again, even better than usual. Check out the Photos Page _______________________________________
Carmel High School in Mundelein (02/12/2010) It was a good cause and the people were great. Those that were brave enough to wander in, stayed to dance for a long time. We're hoping this leads to more gigs and possibly a bigger stage for next year. Thanks to all those that hung out in our room and jammed with us. _______________________________________
Cubby Bear North (01/30/10) Tim and Jenni are engaged!! Tim whipped out the ring right there on stage after singing 867-5309/Jenny to with her! Congratulations to the happy couple!!!
EnKase started everything off and put on a great show with their mix of humor and country/alternative/hip hop stylings. They also joined us for a few tunes to get us going. We all had a great time and Eric and Rick took care of everything we needed including a great mix. Thanks to all who made it out into the bitter cold to see us. _______________________________________ Shark City (01/29/10) Five bands in five hours! Lots of food and free drinks! 900 Motorolans! Jeff Anderson joined us for a dual guitar assault! Skip Moore added some keys for our biggest sound yet! And if that wasn't enough, Skip took some awesome pictures with his state-of-the-art camera and his eye for great shots: Photos _______________________________________ Wool Street Grill (Cary 01/02/10) Wow! What a great turn out! The bartender said we had 190 people there. That's more than they had for New Years! We really appreciate all the support. We had a blast and got good feedback including a review in the McHenry County Bandstalker's blog. We did have some technical difficulties and Tim was nursing a sinus infection, but we didn't let it slow us down.
Tim's friend Tim joined us for a couple tunes on harmonica, which was a treat for us. We got plenty of dancers and Wool Street is a great venue for a show with lots of room including a spacious balcony. Thanks to Wendy and Mark Mihalik for booking the balcony and bringing SOOO many people. Happy birthday to Tom and Jeannie. _______________________________________
Las Palmas (Lindenhurst 12/26/09) Jordan (Tim's son) joined us for a few songs and burned up a few frets on "Eruption," "You Really Got Me," and "Crazy Train." We had a father-daughter pair return after seeing us there in October, which was great. The new in-ear monitor system seemed to work great and allow us to control the volume better. Photos Page _______________________________________
littleBIG Party (Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel 12/11/09) Well, it took some doin', but EnKase got them dancing to start with, and we got them to stay out on the dance floor. Mark provided a great light show and the food was awesome. After a fun show, we partied like rock stars in our hotel rooms (but we didn't break anything, honest). Thanks to Lisa and Amy for setting us up. _______________________________________
Las Palmas (McHenry 10/16/09 and Lindenhurst 10/17/09) Well, we had to keep things under control considering that we were playing in a restaurant, so we started with our quieter tunes. As the night went on we let loose and even got some dancers after they moved a table or two. Thanks to everyone who came to see us. Also, everyone seemed to really like the food and rumor has it that the margaritas sold rather well both nights. Photos Page _______________________________________
Mickey Finns (9/26/09) It's always a great time at Mickey Finns and EnKase helped us celebrate with the Mundelein Class of '89. You kids can party!! Most people stayed to the end and wanted more. Brandon did a great job with sound and Jon jumped in for some light show action. If you were there, check out your mug here: Photos Page _______________________________________
Hainesville Fest (8/29/09) Kids of all ages were dancing up a storm and soon forgot about the cold and wind. Thanks to all who made it out to see us and enjoy the festivities and raffle. Though Paul had some technical issues, the show went on. Pete and Mark did a great job with sound and lights, and Tim did a great job organizing the logistics of the performance. Photos Page _______________________________________
Village of Mundelein's Community Picnic (8/8/09) It was a scorcher!! It cooled off somewhat by the time we went on. Richard did a great job working sound for us and our families and a few friends surprised us by showing up. _______________________________________
Lake County Fair (7/28/09) We weren't as loud as the monster trucks, but people seemed to stay and listen. We're hoping to play there again next year on one of the prime nights. Photos Page _______________________________________ McCarthy's (5/20/09) Our first all acoustic show. We had lots of fun and Lisa and Orlando treated us very well. They had a great turn out. The event raised a lot of money for Avon Breast Cancer research, which is a great cause. _______________________________________ Mickey Finns (5/15/09) What a wild time that was! We thought we played a pretty good show because we had everybody dancing, but most people seemed to be watching the dancing. Hmmm. Brad did a nice job with the sound and we saw lots of new faces. _______________________________________ Gino's East (5/1/09) We had a great turn out and lots of you danced, which was great. Richard Dirkes-Jacks did a great job working sound for us and we like his new PA system. The new songs seemed to go over well too. We were having so much fun we even played past our allotted time and tried a new tune we've never done before. Thanks to everyone for coming out. Photos Page _______________________________________ Penny Road Pub (3/28/09) Well the weather was bad, but we still had some die-hards who made it out. We had a great time and based on the feedback, so did a lot of people. Headwall and Jostelen Weed were great too. A few people mentioned that they liked Paul's shirt and no one caught Tim forgetting any words. Photos Page _______________________________________
Duke's Alehouse & Kitchen (3/14/09) We had a great time and we hope you did too. It took us a few songs to get the mix right, but we eventually got most of you out on the dance floor. The bartender said it was one of the best nights they've had since they remodelled, thanks to all of you for making it out. Photos Page _______________________________________
Mickey Finns (2/20/09) WOW! What a great turn out! We couldn't believe it. Especially with the snow looming. We really appreciate everyone coming out and dancing up a storm! K.C. and Ned of EnKase joined us for a few songs and did a great job of keeping things going while we took a break. All the staff at Mickey Finn's treated us right including the sound man who made us sound better than we were. That fog machine was a nice touch. Photos Page _______________________________________
Cubby Bear North (1/17/09) We got our name up in lights for the first time, so we had to take a picture (see the photos page). Unanimously, our best show yet, everyone got to see two bands for the price of one. We had a great turn out with over 130 people. Cubby Bear North is a great venue with a great stage and sound system, plenty of room to dance, and a balcony with lots of room to see the stage. Eric took care of everything for us and the sound guy did a great job with both the sound and lights for both bands. We had a lot of people dancing and Tokyo Fish Market put on a great show too. Thanks to all who made it out. Photos Page _______________________________________
Penny Road Pub (11/28/08) Thanks to all of you who came out to see us at Penny Road Pub. We love the new stage and Bob the sound guy did a great job! A lot of people stuck around for most of the Auditory Hallucination (wasn't that their name?) show. Thanks again for coming out. Photos Page _______________________________________
On Cue (11/8/08) Thanks to all of you who came out to see us at On Cue. We had a great time and were surprised at how big the place was. Some folks were able to play pool AND listen to us. Even though we did our own sound, we were told that the mix was great. Someone even commented that it was the best mix yet, which was good to hear because we were a little worried in the first set. Photos Page _______________________________________
Mike's Post- and Tim's Pre-Birthday Extravaganza
Shark City Sports Bar & Billiards (10/17/08) Thanks to all those who made it out to see us at Shark City! Fortunately, Drop didn't shut us down after they heard us do our Beatles tune for our sound check. Apparently, we had them worried that we were a 60's band, which wouldn't mesh well with their hardcore metal original show.
Jeremy gets the award for drawing the most people after setting our expectations low. A few of us stuck around to toast Tim's almost-40 Birthday, and he was a good sport about it. Photos Page _______________________________________
OUR FIRST (PAID) GIG! Mickey Finn's Amber Room (8/29/08) Mickey Finn's is a great place with their own brewed beer and great food. We had a great time at Mickey Finns and hope you all did too. Thanks to the 127+ folks who came out to see us and even "danced in the 1st set" to Tim's great surprise. We're working on the next gig, so we'll keep you posted. Busse Woods, Schaumburg, IL (8/14/2008) We played a corporate picnic for WMS. Unfortunately, it was not open to the public, but the food and the people were great! We were supposed to play for about 2 hours, but ended up playing for 5!!! Last year, most of the people left at around 3:30, but this year, a lot of them stayed until 6 PM!!! Photos Page
